About Us

A warm and welcoming pre-school in the heart of our community

Sonning Common Pre-School is a charity, run by a voluntary committee of parents. We provide a warm, nurturing place where children feel happy, calm and secure, and learn to care for and respect themselves, others and the world around them.

We share a site with Sonning Common Primary School and are a feeder pre-school for all local schools. In our last Ofsted inspection, in January 2024, we were rated Good.

Learning & Play

Where curiosity leads the way

Play is our main tool for learning. Each day mixes activities children choose for themselves with activities led by staff, and every child has a key person who gets to know them, plans around their interests and shares their progress with you.

Forest Camp

Exploring, discovering and connecting with nature

Children visit our own Forest Camp in every season and weather. Built around Risk, Resilience and Relationships, it gives children the freedom to test their ideas, learn from their mistakes and grow in confidence – and yes, they will get muddy.
